Called to Adopt: Is Adoption Right for You?
For many families, the call to adoption begins with a quiet tug on the heart—a stirring that whispers, “There’s room at our table.” But how do you know if it’s truly your calling?
At Spirit of Faith Adoptions, we believe adoption is a beautiful reflection of God’s heart. Ephesians 1:5 reminds us that we are all adopted into His family by sharing, “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.” Just as God welcomes us, adoption opens the door for us to welcome a child in love.
Adoption is an amazing and life-changing journey—but it often begins with questions. Below are a few common questions and answers for you to consider:
Will I be able to love a child who’s not biologically mine? Yes. Love is not limited by biology—many parents say the love they feel for their adopted child is just as deep and fierce as any other.
What if the birth mom changes her mind? Adoption requires courage from everyone involved. Our team walks with both adoptive and birth families to ensure all decisions are made thoughtfully and prayerfully.
What if we never get chosen? Waiting can be the hardest part. But God often does His deepest work in the waiting. We encourage families to use this time to pray, prepare, and trust that He is moving behind the scenes. Lamentations 3:25 reminds us that, “the Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”
If you’re in the waiting season, we see you and we know the ache of the unknown. But we also know this: God is faithful. He does not call us without purpose. He is writing a story of redemption that’s bigger than we can imagine.
Whether you’re just starting to explore adoption or you’ve been waiting for what feels like forever, we’re here to walk with you, pray with you, and encourage you through this season. Because when God calls, He also equips. And His plans are always, always good.
We’d love to help you navigate the journey of open adoption. Be sure to connect with us today!
