Director

Stacy serves as our Director of Spirit of Faith Adoptions. She joined the SOFA Team back in 2007, at which time, Stacy was a single parent. She and her husband, Jeff have 3 adult daughters.

Adoption Licensing Coordinator

Ellie serves adoptive families as our Adoption Licensing Specialist.  In her role, she manages all adoption documentation and files. Her family grew through the blessing of open adoption in 2009 through Spirit of Faith Adoptions, and later joined the SOFA Staff.

Care Coordinator (NW Ohio) and Adoption Assessor

Cherise serves as our Care Coordinator. She is an adoptive mom of two children through SOFA, and her medical background as a nurse practitioner has allowed her to serve expectant moms at a local pregnancy center. In her role at SOFA, she provides support to expectant moms and their clinical coordinators. 

Care Coordinator (NE Ohio), Adoption Assessor and Trainer 

Carolyn is a Certified Child Life Specialist and Certified Dual Diagnosis Specialist specializing in trauma, psychosocial intervention, child development, and family systems. As an adoptive mom of three, with five children in total, she brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work with expectant mothers and hopeful adoptive families.

Placement Specialist

As our Placement Specialist, Kathryn supports hopeful adoptive families through the steps of waiting, matching and placement of an adopted child. She has provided support to adoptive and foster families for more than 10 years, and has many foster/adopted siblings.

Program Director

NiCole is a Licensed Clinical Counselor, specializing in trauma recovery. As Program Director, she oversees SOFA's client care programming and writes grants to support funding needs. NiCole also provides trainings for foster and adoptive parents.

Ministry Coordinator

As the Ministry Coordinator, Claire provides support through administration and communications, event programming, and relational outreach.  She also works with our families as an Adoption Assessor and Expectant Parent Care Team member. Claire joined SOFA in 2025. 

Training Coordinator & Adoption Assessor

Sarah is a Licensed Social Worker, who serves as our Training Coordinator and an Adoption Assessor.  She is the mother of 8 children, 7 of whom are adopted.  She has a passion for open adoption.  She provides support to both the hopeful adoptive families and the SOFA staff in receiving the training needed to care for and love each member of the adoption triad.

Adoption Supervisor

Adrian works to partner with and supervise our adoption assessors to provide quality care for our expectant and adoptive parents, builds and maintains relationships with local pregnancy centers, and provides clinical direction as needed. She has been working as a clinician in the field of mental health for 24 years. She recently joined SOFA full-time but has been a part of the assessor team since 2013. She is a pastor's wife, mother of two (one adopted, one biological), and loves reading and the outdoors.

Founder of SOFA & Board Chairman

Phillip had a vision to establish SOFA, a Christian adoption agency over twenty years ago. He now serves as the Chief Executive Director of SOFA as well as Chairman of its Board of Directors.  He and his wife, Lisa, are the parents of five children, 2 biological and 3 adopted.

Speaker and Founder of The Fireweed Retreat for Birth Moms

Jennifer lovingly placed her first born child with an adoptive family, with the assistance of SOFA’s Founder, Phillip Wurster. Two years later, SOFA opened its doors, and Jennifer Mae now shares her story publicly.

Chaplain

Colin serves on our SOFA team as Chaplain. He is the Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church Perrysburg and is a private jet pilot. Colin holds degrees from Midwestern and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Colin and his wife adopted their two children through SOFA.
