Frequently Asked Questions

For Pregnancy Centers

Pregnancy centers are often the first safe place a woman turns in an unexpected pregnancy. Introducing adoption into conversations can feel complex, but it doesn’t have to be. With the right partnership and training, pregnancy centers can confidently present open adoption as a loving option.

Below, you’ll find answers to common questions (and answers!) for pregnancy center staff and volunteers.

  • After a mother has chosen life, the next loving question is often, “What’s best for her and her child’s future?”

Adoption—especially open adoption—can be a compassionate option to explore. Our role is to help pregnancy centers ensure women are fully informed, supported, and empowered to make a decision rooted in love and hope.

  • Open adoption allows a mother to choose a loving family for her child while maintaining a meaningful connection. Many women assume adoption means “goodbye forever.” A brief, informed conversation about open adoption can replace fear with clarity—and create a lifetime of blessings for both mother and child.

  • Often, just a few moments. With the right language and training, adoption can be introduced quickly, gently, and without pressure. Our goal is not to overwhelm, but to ensure adoption is presented as a loving, viable option when appropriate.

  • When a mom begins exploring adoption, we step in immediately and personally. Our team walks with her before, during, and after adoption—providing emotional, spiritual, and practical support so she never feels alone.

  • We provide compassionate care rooted in listening, learning, and grace. This includes counseling, pregnancy-related support as allowed by law, spiritual encouragement, and connection to a community of women who have walked a similar path.

  • Not at all. We see this as a partnership. Pregnancy centers remain a vital source of support, and we work collaboratively—honoring the trust you’ve built while providing specialized adoption care.

  • Our Adoption Advocate Program equips pregnancy center staff and volunteers to confidently and compassionately discuss open adoption. An Adoption Advocate is trained to guide adoption conversations with clarity—ensuring women feel informed, supported, and never pressured.

  • The process is simple and flexible:

    • Step 3: Start Having Life-Changing Conversations. Once trained, you’ll begin meaningful conversations with women—and join our community of Adoption Advocates through monthly Zoom calls, ongoing resources, and continued guidance.
