There are many emotions that we both feel which are pretty common no matter how a family grows...excited, nervous, and hopeful to name a few. We know that God has clearly called us to grow our family again through adoption and because of that we have a deep peace about our future.
The Story of Us
We met on a "blind date" set up by mutual friends. Jodi had no idea that she was going on a date with such a dashing fellow lol. I saw her when I arrived and knew, I just knew that something about her was precious and remarkable. It wasn't until later that I realized my first instinct was correct.
I knew my husband was the one when he was the first person I wanted to talk to when something good or bad happened in my day. We spent hours talking, laughing and getting to know each other via long distance which allowed for us to really ask the tough questions without any pressure.
Meet My Wife
Jodi is incredible, she is complex yet simple, high class but humble, she is everything that I could want and more than I could imagine. She loves with all
her heart and watching her become a mother has been a joy. I call her a "super mom" because she never skips a beat even with no sleep and she doesn't complain. But seriously, she keeps us all on track and is the heart of our home.
Meet My Husband
My husband is kind, generous, thoughtful, patient, funny (I mean really funny, he can diffuse just about any situation with humor) and a protector who makes e feel safe, valued, loved and cared for. He loves Jesus. He loves me and accepts me fully for who I am. He is my very best friend. Seeing him be a father to Sammy makes my heart smile. A boy and his dad is something special and I am so thankful for the opportunity and to see him grow as a father.
Meet Our Family
Sammy is almost 3yrs old and we had the honor to adopt him through SOFA in 2023. He brings JOY to everyone he meets. He is quick to smile, give a hug or high five. He is funny and fearless. He loves hard, plays hard and sleeps hard (thank the Lord). Our life is forever changed with the love and joy this boy brings and we are so thankful for it.
Part of our beautiful story is that we are a family because of adoption. We didn't start this journey thinking we would be adding a second child and it is
through raising Sammy that we opened our hearts to adoption again. We are excited about the extra hugs, love, snuggles and perhaps chaos that this journey will bring and we welcome it all.
We feel a deep admiration and respect for you. You are choosing life for your child and making the best decision you can for them. We want you to know that
we will tell your child of what a brave decision you made in choosing adoption.
We will share their adoption story with them from the beginning at an age of understanding. We will make this a common dialog in our home praising birth
parents for your decision to choose us. We will do our best to communicate how much you love them and the sacrifice it took for you to make this decision.
