Spirit of Faith Adoptions supports families always:
~As you are exploring how to adopt in Ohio,
~ As you are learning about open adoption,
~While waiting for your family to grow through adoption,
~And after your child has joined your family, by providing ongoing training and education and by offering support to your child's biological parents.
~When your adopted child has questions.....
Click to watch Kevin Hofmann's testimony.
He is the author of Growing Up Black in White. This is his story of growing up as a transracial adoptee.
These 3 things are important to him:
1. He wanted to know his story-all of it.
2. He wanted his adoptive parents to understand how he felt growing up as a (transracial) adoptee.
3. He wanted his biological family to know he was okay and he wanted to know they are doing okay.
At SOFA, our focus is ensuring the adoptee's biological family and adoptive family are supported throughout the lifelong journey of adoption because that is what the adoptee needs the most. Jennifer Mae is a birth mom, Barb, Ellie and Phill are adoptive parents, and Stacy raised her daughter as a single mom. Kevin, Pat and Peter are adult adoptees. As members of the Spirit of Faith Adoptions' team, all of these people share their stories to help grow connected families through adoption.
